Hailing from North-West London, party-reggae collective Shanty have a modern twist on classic roots. You might have spotted them at UK music festivals including Boomtown Fair, Leopallooza, Secret Garden Party and Glastonbury, but they’re back in the capital for a very special event.
They are pleased to announce their debut EP ‘Leave Me Out’, due for release on 22nd September, following their debut single ‘Blackout’ earlier this year.

For one night only, and to celebrate the final weekend of Rudy’s Rare Records, Hackney Empire will morph into the late and great Four Aces reggae club. Featuring legendary DJ Newton Dunbar (founding manager of the Four Aces), and Tighten Up Crew selector Mistah Brown and MC Champian.
They’ll be spinning a vintage selection of the hottest ska, the coolest rocksteady, the roughest reggae, the toughest roots and the hardest dubwise riddims to get your heart pumping and your feet moving!
