EastCast is coming out of the studio for our 2nd live Listening Lounge where radio, podcast and sound art makers, movers and shakers get to showcase their work to a captive audience. This best way to describe it? – A curated open mic for radio.
We’ve received an incredible range of submissions from London and beyond, so expect an evening of audio gems in a cosy setting. Also live ‘radio’ performances from Hannah White and Stephen Shiel with their ‘dream machine’ and an audio essay by Mike Brooks.

As the V&A prepares to open it’s East London outpost in the Olympic Park, they’ve actually taken over a small space in Poplar called the Lansbury Micro Museum. Their current exhibition ‘Seeing Red’ is a collection of posters from the women’s printing workshop See Red who where very active members of London’s feminist movement in the 70s and 80’s.

I went to meet George Oats and Charlie Cattel-Killeck at their studio in Hoxton, I worked with them on the Seeing Red project we’ll hear about later but I was intrigued to find out more about this rather nifty idea of taking exhibits out of the museum, using sound to bring them life called Museum in a Box
