Hailing from Mali in West Africa, Songhoy Blues are part of a whole collective of musicians that featured on the African Express project from Damon Albarn and Brian Eno. As many Malian musicians are under threat from Islamic rule, banning music, they are having to find other places to play, and luckily we can experience this fantastic music in the UK. The band will be playing an intimate concert at The Servant Jazz Quarters on Tuesday 30th July. They’ll also be playing at the Vision Festival on London Fields on the 2nd August.
