There’s an exhibition called Sounding The Body Electric – Experiments in Art and Music in Eastern Europe 1957–1984. In the aftermath of Stalinism, composers and artists in Eastern Europe were given new opportunities to experiment. New recording studios equipped with magnetic tape recorders and, later, synthesisers were established, first inWarsaw in 1957 and then throughout Eastern Europe. It’s at the Calvert 22 Gallery in Shoreditch, it’s free and runs until 25th August. http://calvert22.org/ There will also be a talk about it at Cafe Oto Thursday 11th and tickets for that are £4.
